Swanlake | My big Gripe- whenever I seek info on synastry aspects..is that it nearly ALWAYS only describes dynamics within a "romantic couple" context !!! WHY??? What about parent/offspring dynamics?? Or sibling relationships?? SO ANNOYED. This world is getting just too limited and constricted for me. Everything limited to commercial popularity only |

Gemini Blues | We know our parents. We know our kids. If we don't like them, we can't give them back anyway. What we want to know... well what I want to know, anyway... Is if I say "Hi" to that cute lady on the dating site, will she give me the time of day? And if she does, what's the best way to get her to like me? And will I like her? Don't get me wrong. I'm fascinated that my parents had a Saturn conjunct Mars DW happing conjunct my Sun and Venus respectively. I have a lifetime of memories to play back to understand it. And when I see them again, beyond this mortal veil, maybe I'll understand them with not only the eyes of their son. but also with some insight gained from astrology. It the meantime, it sucks waking up alone. |
DopGang | Well. It's one of the most common reasons people come to astrology, if not the number one reason. Plus consider the average age of the LL member. What's on your brain when you're 20-30 years old? Most of all, if you start talking about it people WILL discuss it with you! You can initiate that change. (Family synastry. I find draconic to be very enlightening) But speaking of being alone etc. I feel lonely when single but then feel that my space is being invaded when I'm not. LOL It's a lose-lose situation. LOL |
erickaf | Do you mostly study astrology online? I have books and many mention not only synastry between romantic couples but business or siblings. |

it's probably - aside from financial/job readings - the number one reason people get into astrology. love readings is the #1 request most astrologers receive. most people don't care about their relationship with their boss, or bff, or other fringe people in their life. they want to know about love. synastry charts can be read and interpreted for any two people so it doesn't really matter. if you don't want to read them for love purposes, you don't have to. |
Astro keen | OK, this seems to be a good moment to post a link to a mother/sun synastry (mine of course) here. This caught me by surprise when I first saw it. I found Valentine links with both my sons, as also Alma/ Moon, Alma/Saturn, and Juno. Which certainly expands the meaning of these so called "love' asteroids. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum35/HTML/000266.html |
Swanlake | quote: Originally posted by Vajra: ^Yes, my experience also. Many good books out there, new and old, don't focus on romance at all but give plenty of different perspectives. And even on this forum, though clearly in the minority, there have been rather many threads on synastry between family, friends, co-workers, etc. One just has to look a bit for them between the romance threads but they're there.
I have lots of astrology books..3 of them on synastry -and even those talk ab couples.. I admit I haven't really searched this particular forum . I was specifically interested in chiron interaspects -those between my mother & I Will do a search here.. I have been searching the internet mainly, and thats when it struck me. |
LaceyLeigh | Same reason why most love interpretations favor straight people, or why physical sign descriptions favor white people. It's all about majority. |

Ah yes you're right about the average age factor on here. But I find this problem all over the internet Not everyone is interested in "romance" etc.. |
